In May, some Vermonters head south, but you don’t have to go too far south to get away. Nestled in the southwestern corner of the state, Bennington is bustling this month with a point-to-point marathon on May 21. On May 27, it’s also the site of a block party/crafts fair and on May 20 serves as a base camp for the largest pro/am bike race/tour in the country, the Tour of the Battenkill, just across the New York border.
Mark your calendar for June 3. It's the first ever combined Cancer Center Community Crusaders Day of Celebration and National Cancer Survivors Day at SVMC. There will be an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. cupcake tasting, raffles and prize drawings, music, and kids’ activities like inflatable bounce houses and face painting continue throughout the day.

The number of Americans aged 65 or older that aren't in the labor force rose by 800,000 in the fourth quarter of 2016, marking the resumption of a long-standing trend: the exodus of the Baby Boomer (1946-1964) generation from the work force.
