2025 Shires’ Holiday Inn Tours to Support Growing Need for Food Assistance

A treasured tradition for more than three decades, the 2025 Shires’ Holiday Inn Tours—coordinated by the Manchester Business Association and The Shires of Southwestern Vermont—returns on Saturday, December 6 and Saturday, December 13, inviting the public to explore some of Southern Vermont’s most charming and historic lodging properties.

From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each Saturday, 17 inns, B&Bs, lodges, and boutique hotels across the region will open their doors for self-guided tours, welcoming guests with festive décor, local treats, and classic holiday warmth.

This year, the event carries added significance. Food insecurity in Vermont continues to rise post-COVID, and every ticket sold directly supports local hunger-relief organizations. Proceeds benefit the Manchester Community Food Cupboard, the Arlington Food Shelf, and Bennington County Meals on Wheels—services that are more essential than ever.

“Ticket holders aren’t just enjoying a beloved holiday tradition—they’re helping fight a crisis,” said John Burnham, Executive Director of the Manchester Business Association. “With food insecurity rising, every person who participates makes a meaningful impact for families in our community.”

“The Shires have always been about neighbors helping neighbors,” added Matt Harrington, Executive Director of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce. “Our lodging partners open their doors with pride, and our visitors open their hearts by supporting essential food programs across the region.”
