Host a Ribbon Cutting with the Chamber

Celebrate Milestones. Open New Doors. Engage the Community.

The Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with businesses and organizations across the region to celebrate your milestones—whether it's a grand opening, new location, major renovation, or anniversary. A Chamber-hosted ribbon cutting not only brings visibility to your business, it connects you to our dynamic community of members, leaders, and media.

What to Expect

A Chamber-hosted ribbon cutting is designed to be festive, welcoming, and community-centered. When you schedule a celebration, here's what you can expect:

  • Planning Meeting: A Chamber staff member will work with you to review event details, marketing support, and logistics.

  • Chamber Promotion: We will promote the event through our website, e-newsletters, social media, and local media partners.

  • Ceremonial Ribbon & Scissors: We bring the iconic ribbon and large ceremonial scissors for that perfect photo-op.

  • Chamber Staff & Board Attendance: Our team and leadership will be on hand to help celebrate and offer remarks if desired.

  • Photos & Media: We take and share event photos and offer connections to local press coverage when available.

How to Prepare

To make the most of your celebration:

  • Choose a meaningful date that allows time for planning and outreach (minimum 3 weeks’ notice recommended).

  • Coordinate food, drinks, and decorations if you wish to provide hospitality.

  • Consider inviting key partners, customers, and staff to share in the moment.

  • Let us know of any additional features (tours, door prizes, speeches) you’d like included.

Event Investment

To ensure mutual commitment and event quality, the Chamber requires a refundable $100 deposit. This deposit will be returned after the event, provided the original date set by both parties is met.
