Climate Advocates Bennington (CAB) honored Mikaela Lewis and Matt Harrington of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce with the 2025 Environmental Leadership Award during the Bennington Rotary Club luncheon on Friday, November 21st. The luncheon was held at the Charlie Boyle Carriage Barn and welcomed members of the Compost Committee of the Solid Waste Alliance, as well as volunteers involved with multiple composting efforts throughout Bennington County in 2025.

The Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce is proud to report that their latest Garlic Town USA Festival, which was held on Saturday August 31, was successful in diverting over 80% of the total waste produced during the event through various composting, recycling, and reduced waste efforts made during the 2024 year.

The Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce unveiled the new regional visitors guide. The area guide, a staple of the Chamber’s tourism efforts, is updated yearly and distributed throughout the Northeast as a way to showcase the region’s various tourist attractions.
