The Bennington Battle Monument, dedicated to the famous Battle of Bennington that took place during the Revolutionary war in 1777, is a 306′ stone obelisk opened to the public in 1891. Elevator to the top offers fantastic view.

The Old First Church was gathered in 1762, the first Protestant church in Vermont. Much of the early history of Bennington and of Vermont took place in and around the original Meeting House. Over 200 years since the dedication of the present building, the Old First Church continues to be an active church.

This is a place not just for children but also for grown-ups who delight in dolls, dollhouses and vintage toys for boys. The permanent collection includes many fully-furnished dollhouses, including Victorian, Federalist, English Tudor, and Cape Cod designs, along with faerie houses, an extensive collection of Madam Alexander dolls, many puppets and marionettes, as well as vintage toy planes, trains, and circus wagons. The museum shop sells dollhouse kits and furnishings and other collectibles.

The Bennington Rec Center includes a six lane, 25 yard indoor pool that is handicapped accessible with an aquatic lift and stairs. The pool serves many groups including adult swim, family swim, senior therapy swim, club and high school swim teams, lifeguard training, swimming lessons, and more. The Rec Center also offers a sauna, showers, cardio vascular equipment, weight training, and multi-purpose rooms. Outdoors at the Center includes basketball courts, tennis courts, a volleyball court and softball fields. The Bennington Tennis Center is a state of the art indoor tennis club. We offer year round indoor tennis in a climate controlled(heated/air-conditioned) dome. Our staff runs group and private lessons. Our programing includes: adult clinics, junior clinics and round robins. We rent court times for game play. We also have a ball machine for the ultimate work-out. Our pro-shop is full service offering: racquet demos, restringing services, apparel and footwear.
