Grow jobs, enhance the local economy, bring stability and acceleration to this region’s business ecosystem, support the creative market and provide safe and healthy communities is our job at the Chamber.

Through various initiatives, programs and partnerships we look to assist all our members in developing and growing a robust, flexible workforce solution.

Recruitment

In partnership with the Vermont Department of Labor and other local agencies, this is the spot for job seekers, job providers and additional training.

Retention

The Chamber and our partners understand it’s not just about finding and recruiting new job seekers, but retaining them as well. We have multiple programs and initiatives that can help you keep your best employees working hard for your business.

Shires Young Professionals

The Shires Young Professional group was created to help young professionals and families create deep roots in our Southwestern Vermont community. Since the Chamber began the program in 2018, the group has become its own 501c3 organization producing young professional programs, socials, recreational events, and more! The SYP looks to engage, emerge, and empower young professionals from all walks of life!

This is a great group for Chamber members to support with a Corporate Membership and utilize as a retention tool in your toolbox of employee benefits. Corporate Members can have their entire 40 and under staff belong to this group as part of their membership. Additionally, Corporate Members enjoy:

  • Unlimited access to all SYP & Chamber events for your Young Vermonters (21-40) employees

  • The ability to host and/or teach workshop, seminar, webinar as part of our Seminar Series,

  • Guest speaking at one of their program events

  • Having your logo and branding on social media, website, newsletter and other SYP communication tools,

  • Having access to 7-12 engaged young professionals as a moderated focus group for your company’s R&D purposes
