In May, some Vermonters head south, but you don’t have to go too far south to get away. Nestled in the southwestern corner of the state, Bennington is bustling this month with a point-to-point marathon on May 21. On May 27, it’s also the site of a block party/crafts fair and on May 20 serves as a base camp for the largest pro/am bike race/tour in the country, the Tour of the Battenkill, just across the New York border.
Mark your calendar for June 3. It's the first ever combined Cancer Center Community Crusaders Day of Celebration and National Cancer Survivors Day at SVMC. There will be an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. cupcake tasting, raffles and prize drawings, music, and kids’ activities like inflatable bounce houses and face painting continue throughout the day.
As mud season gives way to honest-to-goodness spring in Vermont, our family has taken to the mountains, exploring our favorite trails in the southern part of the state. We’ve been trekking and meandering the trails around Southern Vermont with our kids for the past 10 years, and now we want share our favorites with you.
We’ve had SO much snow this month we’re starting to re-think peak. Kidding of course, but this winter’s amazing! It feels like old school Vermont and is the best way to celebrate vacation week. Out in front of us (and you!) are epic skiing and riding, lots of live music, fun stuff for kids, and après so good you’ll wish it would snow until April.
