Healthcare through the Chamber

The Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce, as part of the Vermont Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) will once again be offering a variety of health insurance plans to our members throughout the Bennington County.

The statewide chamber organization, VACCE, has partnered with BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont to provide three separate plans to businesses, ranging in size from 1 to 100 employees: the VACE Advantage 100% Health Savings Account, the VACE Advantage Copay and the VACE Advantage Copay HSA.

In the Bennington Chamber’s last State of the Commerce Survey that came out this summer we saw that healthcare was one of the main issues that challenged small businesses.  We, along with a subcommittee in our VACCE organization, have been working to bring back the health care benefit in the chamber as a way to help our members.

These new insurance plans are especially attractive to independent contractors, sole proprietors, young professionals, employee-based companies from 1 to 100 and those on the bubble, not receiving any financial or premium assistance from the state.

Open enrollment starts Nov. 1 and ends Dec. 15.

The Bennington regional chamber now representing the full Shires of Vermont or Bennington County region is the chamber of choice for many businesses within the county to take advantage of the program.

I'm not a Chamber member but I want to take advantage of this healthcare program!

You do have to be a member of your local chamber in order to take advantage of this plan.  Signing up is easy and chamber dues are affordable! Payment is due upon filling out of the application.  If you have any questions call our offices at 802-447-3311.  DOWNLOAD the 2019 membership application and EMAIL it back to Allison Cavanagh at

I am Chamber member, how do I sign up for this program?

Your broker will have all the necessary information.  Just mention you're in the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce and want to know if the VACE plans are a good fit for you. FIND YOUR BROKER

I am a MBA/Chamber Combo Member. Can I still participate in the VACE program?

Any Manchester Business Association (MBA) member who signed up under the combo membership (which included Chamber membership) will have access to these plans so long as they RETURN the membership application that Allison sent to them. This allows our staff to put you into our database which is referenced by the VACE program to authenticate chamber membership and access to the VACE plans.

I don't have a broker.

It's okay if you don't have a broker yet.  Brokers are a great partner in finding the right plan for you.  We recommend  Heidi Bourhill at The Richards Group.  CONTACT HEIDI
