Town of Bennington Planning Commission Wednesday, April 20, 2005 5:00 p.m. Town Office Building 205 South Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201 MINUTES Present: Barry Horst - Chair, Charles Copp, Mike McDonnough Also Present Dan Monks - Zoning Administrator, Jim Sullivan - BCRC, Reg Jones, Scott Creedy, Meg Campbell, Tordis Isselhardt Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. Set Date for Public Hearing for Bylaw Amendment The Planning Commission set May 11, 2005 as the date for the Planning Commission's Public Hearing to review the revised Large Scale Retail Bylaw. Charles Copp moved and Barry Horst seconded a motion to modify the Large Scale Retail Bylaw by increasing the size limitation on retail stores to 115,000 thousand square feet. The motion passed unanimously with Mike McDonnough noting for the record that he approved of the motion only for the purpose of having language to warn for the public hearing. All members present noted that the proposed language was subject to change based on public comment received at the public hearing. Other Business The Planning Commission unanimously approved the minutes for the April 13, 2005 meeting. Scott Creedy recommended that the Town Plan include a recommendation that a linear park along the Walloomsac River that would include the three covered bridges be created. He indicated that a focus on the islands behind the paper mill on Route 67A was appropriate. The Planning Commission directed their consultant, Jim Sullivan, to note this recommendation in the appropriate section of the Town Plan. The meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted Daniel W.
