Town of Bennington Planning Commission Wednesday, January 12, 2005 5:00 p.m. Bennington Free Library, Bank North Room 101 Silver Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201 MINUTES Present: Barry Horst - Chair, Michael McDonough, Bob Burgess, Charles Copp, Also Present Dan Monks - Zoning Administrator, Jim Sullivan - BCRC, Linda Putney, Jim Cannavan, Terry Eubanks, Bruce Liermon, Scott Printz, Rich Jorgenson Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. Town Plan Update - Public Input Re: Housing and Transportation- The Planning Commission and members of the public discussed, at length, affordable housing issues. In particular, Linda Putney advocated for energy efficient new houses. She recommended that the town enforce energy efficiency standards as part of its building code enforcement. The planning commission and members of the public also discussed transportation issues. In particular, members of the public advocated for more "bicycle friendly" roads and suggested a bike/pedestrian issues advisory committee. Planning Commission Comment Re: Changes to Large Scale Retail Bylaw- Bob Burgess moved that the Planning Commission send a report to the Select Board with no adverse comment regarding the Select Board's changes to the Large Scale Retail Bylaw. Charles Copp seconded the motion. The motion passes unanimously. 2005 Planning Commission Work Plan - The Planning Commission endorsed the 2005 Work Plan proposed by the Planning Director.
