Town of Bennington Planning Commission Wednesday, December 8, 2004 5:00 p.m. Bennington Free Library, Rotary Room 101 Silver Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201 MINUTES Present: Barry Horst - Chair, Michael McDonough, Sharon Yorke, Charles Copp, Bob Burgess Also Present Dan Monks - Zoning Administrator, Jim Sullivan - BCRC, Mike Devens, Peter VanOot, David Martin, Mike Twardy, Tim Smith, Enessa Carbone, Jon Endres Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. Town Plan Update - Public Input Re: Land Use - Urban Areas - Peter VanOot (representing the owners of the Johnson Controls site) asked the Planning Commission to consider re-zoning the former Johnson Controls property from Industrial to Planned Commercial or some other Zoning designation that would allow retail development. A lengthy discussion ensued. Tim Smith (representing the Carbones) requested that the Planning Commission re-zone a portion of the lands north and west from Carbone Honda/Toyota from Industrial to Planned Commercial. He made a detailed presentation. Mike Devens expressed support for retail development in the Urban Mixed Use Zone. Request to Re-Name Memory Lane the Planning Commission discussed Vermont Composites request to re-name Memory Lane. The attached memorandum outlines the discussion. The meeting was adjourned.
