The citizens generally supported retail uses in the zone. The Planning Commission expressed concerns about retail uses in the area. Many of the citizens believed appropriate controls would alleviate negative impacts of retail development. The Planning Commission pointed out that retail development in the area was not consistent with the State Planning goal to maintain the traditional pattern of development in Vermont - dense settlements surrounded by rural country side. The meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted Daniel W. Monks Planning Director C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK104\PC-12-01-04-Minutes.wpd
