                            MINUTES
          Present:  Barry Horst - Chair, Michael McDonough, Sharon Yorke, Charles Copp
               Also Present   Dan Monks - Zoning Administrator
Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
Downtown Bennington Design Review District
The Planning Commission discussed, at length, a recent Development Review Board decision to allow vinyl shutters to be attached to the 198 North St. building. Sharon Yorke explained that it was in violation of the Design Guidelines. The Planning Commission discussed ways to avoid such decisions in the future.
Town Plan Revision - Priority Issues
The Planning Commission discussed several issues that they hope to address as part of the revision of the Town Plan. Issues included the following:
                              Reorganization of Town Plan
                              Expansion of Design Review District
                              Review of Land Use District Boundaries 
                              Review of all maps
                              Review of Vision Statement
                              Review general planning goals
                              Address coordination with adjoining municipalities
                              Address Gateways carefully
                              Update Scenic Resources section 
The Planning Commission scheduled a Public Forum regarding the Town Plan revisions for September 22, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the firehouse.
Next Meeting
The Planning Commission scheduled the next Planning Commission meeting for August 11, 2004.
