                           MINUTES
                       January 15, 2002

         205 South Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201
                      Members Present:    Barry Horst - Chair, Bob Burgess - Clerk, 
                 Michael McDonough, Mike Lochner
                 Also Present:  Dan Monks, Zoning Administrator                            
                 
  The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m.
  Minutes
            Bob Burgess moved to accept the minutes from previous meetings as        presented.  
            Mike Lochner seconded the motion.
            The motion passed unanimously 
  Other Business:
       Airport Runway Extension 
            The Planning Commission agreed that the Planning Commission's planned        Public Forum regarding the proposed airport runway extension should be held        sometime in February.  The format and scheduling of the Public Forum will be        placed on the Planning Commission's January 23, 2002 agenda for discussion        by the Planning Commission
            Appointment of Zoning Administrator
            The Planning Commission noted, for the record, the Town Attorney's written        legal opinion that the Town Manager has the exclusive authority to hire and        fire the Zoning Administrator and directed that a copy of the opinion be made        part of the minutes.
            Zoning Bylaw Revision Project
            The Planning Commission discussed Article III, Village Industrial District and        Industrial District of the proposed Zoning Bylaw revisions.
            
  The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
