                     Planning Commission
                           MINUTES
                      November 28, 2001
                          5:00 p.m.
                     Town Office Building
          205 South Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201                      Members Present:    Barry Horst - Chair, Bob Burgess - Clerk, 
                 Michael McDonough, Sharon Yorke
                      Also Present:       Dan Monks, Zoning Administrator                            
                                
  The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
  Other Business:
       Town-owned Forest Lands 
            The Planning Commission discussed the issue of selling Town -owned Forest Land.  
            Bob Burgess moved that the Chair and Zoning Administrator draft a letter to the        Select Board requesting that the Planning Commission be given an opportunity to        comment on any proposal to sell town-owned forest land before the Select Board        makes any decision regarding such a proposal.  
            Sharon Yorke seconded the motion.
            The motion passed unanimously.
  Mount Anthony Middle School - Act 250 Commission Hearing
            Bob Burgess moved to have Daniel W. Monks represent the Planning Commission at        the Middle School preliminary Act 250 hearing for the purpose of asserting party        status only.
            Sharon Yorke seconded the motion.
            The motion passed unanimously.
            The Planning Commission then discussed at length the appropriate role for the        Planning Commission in the upcoming Act 250 hearing.
                                  
  Zoning Bylaw Revision Project
            The Planning Commission discussed Article III, Central Business District, of the        proposed Zoning Bylaw revisions.
            
            The Planning Commission scheduled its next meeting for December 4, 2001 at 4:30        p.m.
  The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
