Town of Bennington Planning Commission MINUTES October 24, 2001 5:00 p.m. Town Office Building 205 South Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201 Members Present: Barry Horst - Chair, Bob Burgess - Clerk, Michael McDonough, Sharon Yorke, Michael Lochner Also Present: Dan Monks, Zoning Administrator, The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. Zoning Bylaw Revision Project The Planning Commission reviewed a draft, prepared by Burnt Rock Inc., of Article 1, Authority and Purpose, of the proposed revised Bylaw. Comments and suggestions will be forwarded to Burnt Rock Inc. The Planning Commission scheduled its next meeting for October 30, 2001 at 5:00 p.m. and scheduled a meeting with Burnt Rock, Inc. for November 13, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. Resolution - FY 2002 Municipal Planning Grant The Planning Commission members signed a resolution authorizing application for a FY 2002 Municipal Planning Grant in the amount of $15,000.00 to fund a Northside Drive Transportation Corridor Analysis. Northside Drive Traffic Issues The Planning Commission discussed ongoing efforts to improve Northside Drive traffic movement, including discussion with the Monument Plaza owner's engineer and the Agency of Transportation's re-timing of the 67A/7A signal and Monument Plaza/7A signal. The Planning Commission also agreed by consensus that the Zoning Administrator should contact the developer of the Aldi site to recommend that the developer pursue opening the rear emergency access road to traffic. The Zoning Administrator and Chair will update the Select Board via Memorandum on Planning Commission actions regarding Northside Drive. The meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Daniel W.
