                           MINUTES
                               
                        June 21, 2001

                      Members Present:    Barry Horst - Chair, Bob Burgess - Clerk, 
                 Michael McDonough, Michael Lochner
  
                      Also Present:       Dan Monks, Zoning Administrator
                 Don Hicks, Former Chair of Planning Commission         
  
  The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
  
  Zoning Bylaw Revision Project -
  
       The Planning Commission discussed Burnt Rock, Inc.'s suggestions regarding the
  focus of the Zoning Bylaw Revision Project.  By consensus, the Planning Commission
  authorized Burnt Rock to propose language that will correct statutory deficiencies.  The
  Planning Commission then discussed the definitions section of the current bylaw and
  suggested revisions/additions to this section. [See attached Memorandum to Brian Shupe for
  details regarding this discussion.] The Planning Commission directed the Zoning
  Administrator to forward their suggestions to Burnt Rock, Inc.
  
       Mike McDonough suggested that at the next meeting the Planning Commission should
  try to develop a plan for obtaining Public input regarding the Bylaw Revision Project.
  
       The Planning Commission by consensus scheduled the next work session on the Bylaw
  Revision Project for 5:00 p.m. on July 11, 2001 at the Town Office Conference Room.
  
  The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:15 p.m.
