BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Bennington Town Office - Conference Room - November 19, 2008 November 19, 2008 MEMBERS PRESENT: Anne Bugbee, Scott Murphy, Jeff Goldstone, and Laura Gresh. Excused: Meg Campbell 1. October 29, 2008 Minutes Minutes were approved as written. 2. DRB - Fiddlehead - 338 Main Street - Awning, Joel Lentzner Joel presented to HPC a picture of a canvas awning they would like to put out to cover the front door, it will be 5' tall and 9' wide and domed in the middle, the color will be burgundy with white letters, six holes will be drilled into the marble to hold the awning, the clock beneath the proposed awning will be lit. HPC approved the awning as presented. Lincare - 201 South Street - Sign, David Buckley The sign permit presented was approved, however, HPC noted that the lighting should be addressed along with the wires and painting on the pole. Meg also recommended that the sign should be lowered to the roof line of the building. Eagle Nationwide Mortgage Company - 339 Main Street - Sign, Greenberg The sign and information that was presented was approved. 3. Other Preservation Issues Anne questioned whether or not HPC could obtain CLG funding for the fountain signage. Scott checked and found that CLG funding could not be used.
