Bennington Historic Preservation Commission 
                 Meeting June 18, 2008, 2:30 pm 
Present: Meg Campbell, Laura Gresh , Jeff Goldstone, Anne Bugbee, and Scott Murphy.  
1. Minutes
The minutes from June 4, 2008 were not presented as they have not been finalized yet.
2. DRB - There were not any signs or issues discussed.  
3. Update of Spectrum Design Website Project
Meg showed the Commission members the time comparison pictures that will be included in the website. The members reviewed each picture's description and made several changes. 
The HPC discussed a possible future CLG grant opportunity involving historic photos and various ways to gather them together for display. This discussion will be continued at a later date.
 
3. Community Meeting Updates 
The BBC annual budget was approved by the Select Board at the June 9th meeting. John Shanahan, Executive Director, made the presentation. The Seward Johnson bronze sculptures have been placed throughout the Downtown and have been well received. We will have them on exhibit through the end of October. Scott discussed the Applegate Pedestrian Link which would be a potential Enhancement grant application through the Vermont Agency of Transportation tying Applegate Housing, Willowbrook Apartments, and Molly Stark School to Bennington's existing sidewalk system. 
4. Other Preservation Issues -Anne discussed the fountain restoration and said the HPC has been asked to consider financing and placing historic descriptive panels near the fountain. Scott and Anne will attempt to find out the cost of the panels. These panels would be similar to the existing ones placed along the Bennington Pathway.
