BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Bennington Town Office - Conference Room - November 27, 2007 November 27, 2007 MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Anne Bugbee, Laura Gresh and Scott Murphy. Excused: Meg Campbell 1. Minutes of November 14, 2007 - Minutes were approved as written. 2. DRB - Sign Permit Application 493 Main Street, Seven Mountain Acupuncture & Creative Living Shop, Zazzaro/Bloomfield Mrs. Bloomfield was present and answered several questions from the commissioners. The sign application was approved as submitted. Other DRB Issues: Scott discussed the Bennington Butcher, bagel, grocer shop and said that the construction was completed according to the previously approved plans. Dan Monks had been very cautious in overseeing this construction and other than two minor outside landscaping items, everything else was completed per specs. Tally's is completed and was done according to plans. The only remaining item is the unpainted support beams which will be painted shortly or in the spring. Laura will forward pictures of both places to commission members. 3. CLG National Register Expansion Review HPC members had several comments or changes to make to Paula Sugarman's Statement of Significance. They would like Paula to come to a meeting so that the comments could be discussed. Scott will contact Paula about the possibility of her coming to Bennington. If not, HPC members will forward their comments to Beth for collection and she will forward them to Paula. Overall, the HPC members were extremely impressed with Paula's work. 4. Community Meeting Updates The Fountain committee continues to meet and Anne will keep the HPC informed. 5. Other Preservation Issues Scott will continue to look into the possibility of expanding the membership of HPC and will update members at the next meeting.
