BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Bennington Town Office - Conference Room - October 30, 2007 October 30, 2007 MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Meg Campbell, Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Anne Bugbee, Laura Gresh and Scott Murphy. 1. Minutes of October 10, 2007 - Minutes were approved with the following amendment below: Item 2. DRB - John Lee representing 663 Main Street joined HPC after this discussion, HPC noted the above recommendations to the applicant. 2. DRB - Discussion on Peter Cross building at 639-641 Main St. Meg and other members wanted to know how the DRB approved this project without a final recommendation from HPC? Scott will find out and let everyone know. 3. CLG -07-2RFP - Laura volunteered to write the application and wanted the template from a previous application sent to her as well as the grant application. 4 Discussion on update of National Historic Register District - where do we stand? Beth will follow up with Paula Sagerman. 5. Other Preservation Issues Meg brought up the HPC camp and the possibility of bringing them to Bennington or somewhere close to Bennington. It was mentioned that we could put together a coalition of Towns to help defray the cost. Anne and Laura will attend the BBC annual meeting. Tordis is also considering attending. All members should be on the lookout for possible new, qualified people to the commission. Meg will followup on the digital recordings of Downtown Bennington and update the rest of the group at the next meeting. Tordis suggested that all member look at the www.frontporchforum.com website as it has many useful features for HPC members. Laura spoke about watching the Schenectady HPC meeting and how they include pictures and biographies of their members in their literature. They also have handy, digest-versions of historic zoning regulations which they distribute to potential contractors and builders of historical buildings. meeting adjourned 3:20.
