BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Bennington Town Office - Conference Room - August 8, 2007 MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Anne Bugbee, Meg Campbell, and Laura Gresh. ALSO PRESENT: Beth Antognioni EXCUSED: Scott Murphy 1. Minutes of July 11, 2007 Bugbee moved and Isselhardt seconded to accept the minutes with the following change: 5. Other Preservation Issues Meg noted that there has been no movement on the Walmart expansion, they have received an application extension of mid October. 2. CLG Grant Application Discussion Meg forwarded an outline for the proposed website via email. Laura emailed her thoughts to Meg. The following items were suggested to be included in the outline: Vermont Style Guide HPC excerpts of the Past Annual Town Reports Roster of past Commission members Historic maps (Map project that HPC did in the past) List of past CLG projects that were done At Risk Sites & Structures, buildings we worry about Buildings to watch(more discussion is needed) Include the Chamber as a link Link to Bennington Scenic Resources Report Meg will estimate the time needed to obtain all the necessary material to be included on the website along with how much the estimated cost will be. The Grant Application does need to go to the Select Board , Scott will present it at the August 27th meeting. Scott will also obtain Stuart Hurd's signature as the Chief Elected Local Official. Beth checked with Scott and found out it is not necessary to publish the application as a legal notice, 4. Community Meeting Updates There were no items for Community Meeting Updates. 5. Other Preservation Issues Bennington Station project seems to be moving forward. The transformation of the Old Middle School on Main Street is also moving forward. The Catamount School received two bids, the school is under contract to the highest bidder Jack Appelman. Tordis has been working with Ted Bird on a 2 part story of the Methodist Church.
