BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Bennington Police Department Conference Room Wednesday, March 29, 2006 MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Victor Rolando, John Dostal, Anne Bugbee, Meg Campbell, Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Scott Murphy, and Laura Gresh 1. Minutes of March 15, 2006 Minutes were approved with the following amendment. Unanimous. 4. Other Preservation Issues When the Town is planning projects, Isselhardt asked if HPC can be asked for advice and comment in the early stages? Previously HPC questioned the status of the Pathway project, and also what the role if any does HPC have in regard to this project. Murphy noted that the Pathway Project is still in the beginning stages and once the plans are more in place he would have Dan Monks update HPC. 2. Bennington Community Roundtable Discussion Bennington Community Roundtable Discussion is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, 7:00 p.m, Bennington Free Library, Rotary Room. Meg will send an email reminder to people who have not responded to the invitation. 3. CLG Opportunity Below are some suggestions for CLG Opportunities: • It was suggested to have the revised "Time and Place" reprinted and mailed to the owner's in the Downtown Design Review District, to use as an educational tool. • Expand the National Register District • Produce Historic District Signs It was decided among the members to pursue the reprinting of "Time and Place". Laura will contact Crae Publishing for an estimate on reprinting the book. Beth will look into how many owner's are on the list in the Downtown Design Review District. Meg, Scott, Beth and Laura will meet next Tuesday in the Town Office Conference Room to work on the above GLG Project.
