BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Town Office Conference Room Wednesday, March 15, 2006 MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Victor Rolando, John Dostal, Anne Bugbee, Meg Campbell, Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Scott Murphy, and Laura Gresh Meg introduced Laura Gresh as the new HPC member. Welcome to Laura. 1.Minutes of February 8, 2006 Minutes were approved with the following amendment. Unanimous. 4. Other Preservation Issues In response to Isselhardt's concern that the barn behind Faller's Music might be an At Risk Structure, Murphy noted that the Barn behind Faller's Music is being used for storage. When the Town is planning projects, Isselhardt asked if HPC can be asked for advise and comment in the early stages? Previously HPC questioned the status of the Pathway project, and also what the role if any does HPC have in regard to this project. Murphy noted that the Pathway Project is still in the beginning stages and once the plans are more in place he would have Dan Monks update HPC. Minutes of March 1, 2006 Minutes were approved. Unanimous 2. DRB Reed's Taxi - 190 North Street HPC approved the sign permit application as presented. Unanimous. Carey/Greenberg - The Gamers Grotto - 337 Main Street. HPC approved the sign permit application as presented. Unanimous. Chris Cochran will be at the next DRB meeting, March 21, 2006 discussing the use of Historic materials. 7:00 p.m., River Street Firehouse. 3. Bennington Community Roundtable Discussion The invitation was mailed out to 26 Groups and individuals involved in the Preservation of Bennington's Historic, Architectural, Cultural and Archaeological Resources. Date is set for April 4, 7:00 p.m., Bennington Free Library, Rotary Room. 4. Other Preservation Issues Meg reported that the History & Heritage Committee is working with the BBC Design Committee, Meg has volunteered to be the Chair of the Design Committee The next Historic Preservation Conference will be held in St. Albans on Friday, June 9th 2006.
