BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Town Office Conference Room Wednesday, October 26, 2005 MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: John Dostal, Sharon Yorke, Anne Bugbee, Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Victor Rolando and Scott Murphy. MEMBERS EXCUSED: Meg Campbell 1. BPI Linda Wichlac & Pam Santarcangelo from BPI discussed their Implementation Grant regarding the Zacharia Harwood House. BPI will be utilizing the barn to create Adult Day Care. Commission members are invited to tour the facility. 2. Minutes of October 12, 2005 Dostal moved and Rolando seconded the minutes of October 12, 2005 be approved as presented. 3. DRB Guare/J.J. Williams - 210 Union Street HPC approved the sign as presented. Unanimous. 4. Other Preservation Issues Murphy obtained information from Dan Monks regarding questions HPC had from EBI requesting a proposed telecommunications facility at 209 South Street. Below are the following questions with answers. How does the height compare to what the current antenna height is now? How tall is the existing antenna? The proposed height is the same as the existing height, 100'. What kind or type of transmission will it be used for? At this point we still do not know what type of transmission it will be used for. Isselhardt noted that the Catamount School should be included as an At-Risk structure. A question came up regarding a possible two or three story building at the Tuttle site and wondered the impact of a multi unit story at that site. Murphy will follow-up with Dan Monks and update HPC at the next meeting. A status question came up in regard to the "Time and Place in Bennington" revision, Antognioni will contact Michael Allen and invite him to the next HPC meeting. Rolando questioned the status of a Wi-Fi system in Historic Downtown Bennington, Murphy will follow-up with Dan Monks and update HPC at the next meeting. A question also came up regarding the new "Town Plan" and wondered if any changes pertain ed to Historic Preservation issues. Murphy will obtain info and update HPC at the next meeting.
