BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Town Office Conference Room Wednesday, April 28, 2004 - 3:00 p.m. MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Sharon Yorke, Meg Campbell, David Aldrich, Anne Bugbee, John Dostal, Tordis Ilg Isselhardt, Victor Rolando, and William B. Colvin. 1. HPC Reorganization -Sharon Yorke nominated Meg Campbell for HPC Chair position, and Tordis Ilg Isselhardt nominated Sharon Yorke for HPC Vice Chair position. Isselhardt moved, Dostal seconded. Unanimous. 2. Minutes of April 28, 2004 -Rolando moved, Isselhardt seconded that Minutes of April 28, 2004 be approved as presented. Unanimous. 3. DRB Update - Green Mountain Hydroponic & Organic Garden Supply 106 North Street - Sign Permit The HPC accepted the Green Mountain Hydroponic and Organic Garden Supply sign for 106 North Street Sign as presented. Unanimous. 4. Benmont Avenue Survey Update Subcommittee of Campbell, Isselhardt, Yorke, Rolando, and Bugbee met and identified historic properties/characteristics of Benmont Avenue north of Leonard Street. Campbell drafted an Historic Integrity Report (attached) and presented to the Planning Commission later that day. 5. HPC Job Descriptions Update Subcommittee of Yorke, Aldrich, and Colvin worked on a draft HPC Job Description and presented it to HPC, suggested changes were noted and made (attached). 6. Time & Place Scope of Work Colvin presented a draft of the Time & Place RFP. HPC accepted draft as presented. Unanimous. RFP will be mailed out by Monday, May 10, 2004. 7. Other Preservation Issues Commissioners wishing to attend the Vermont Preservation Conference should have forms completed by May 12, 2004. Campbell noted due to liability issues, perhaps only a few representatives of HPC would tour the VanNostrand House. Campbell noted that the Preservation Trust has grants available for At Risk assessments, she will follow up and report at May 26, 2004 meeting. Isselhardt noted that she will be meeting with Ted Corbett to discuss the general promotion of the Plaque Program. (Plaque Program will be placed on May 26, 2004 Agenda.)
