BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Town Office Conference Room Wednesday, February 11, 2004 - 3:00 p.m. MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Vic Rolando, Anne Bugbee, John Dostal, David Aldrich, William B. Colvin, and Tordis Ilg Isselhardt. MEMBERS EXCUSED: Meg Campbell, and Sharon Yorke MEMBERS ABSENT: Hugh Baker Colvin called the meeting to order at 3:06 p.m. 1. Amended Minutes of January 14, 2004 3. At Risk Sites & Structures Yorke asked Bugbee if she could write a list of buildings on which we have history, including street addresses. Amended minutes of January 14, 2004 were approved. Minutes of January 28, 2004 Dostal noted - 6. Other Preservation Issues - There soon will be a plaque for the Corkscrew Railroad located at the Bennington Museum. Isselhardt moved, Dostal seconded Minutes of January 28, 2004 be approved as presented. Unanimous. 2. DRB - No update 3. Time & Place - Suggestions for consultant scope-of-work. Postponed until March 10, 2004. 4. At Risk Sites and Structures Discussion of Vic's introduction & steps to complete the form included the following: -Look at intros to other Sites and Structures volumes to tie in with introduction -Gather information - document with photos -Dialogue with owners -Search for assistance opportunities - Division, VPT -Put together list of contact information -Mail Sites and Structures information to real estate agencies - can access information on properties at Library or Town Office 5. Other Preservation Issues • Isselhardt- concerned about the placement of the Molly Stark Trail plaque at the Bennington Museum. • Discussion on 4F Transportation Act postponed. • Aldrich - concerned about changes that will be made in "Time and Place" (the amount of hours to update "Time and Place" will be only 30-40 hours). • Bugbee - Historical Society will meet on the following dates: 3/25/04 - Farms & Foresters - 7 p.m. 4/26/04 - Furnace Grove - 7 p.m. Meeting was adjourned at 3:58 p.m. Upcoming Meetings March 24, 2004 April 17, 2004 Respectfully Submitted William B.
