Chamber Website Business Listing:  Now available for you to send us a photo or logo to add to the listing for greater impact.

Economic Development Partners:  The Chamber is working with Bennington Town Government, Colleges, Local and Regional entities to create a more cohesive momentum for development.  We attend Town Select Board meetings as well as many other Board  meetings.

Insurance:  Delta Dental, Accident/Life and Vision are available to our members.

Weekly Chamber E-Blast:  Updating the happenings for the week and weekend.

Active Committee Involvement:  Members are encouraged to participate on a  number of Committees: Dollars for Scholars, Facilities, Membership, Marketing, Events and Legislative.

The Chamber’s Bulk Mail Account:  Available to members to borrow.  Reduces mailing costs.

Literature Displays:  Your brochures can be displayed both at the Chamber Office and at the Bennington Welcome Center at no charge.  In 2014, over 100,000 people came through the Welcome Center doors.  We also deliver  your brochures to Big Moose Deli in Hoosick Falls, various trade shows and at regional events.  Posters at the Welcome Center are available on an annual lease at a reduced rate for our Chamber members  Display cases may be booked for a month at no charge as they become available.

Social Media:  The Chamber Facebook page is regularly updated.

Foreign Trade Zone:  Information available to manufacturers.

Job Fairs and Expo:  We support the Vermont Department of Labor Job Fairs and attend local high school Career Week activities.  We take a booth at the Vermont Business Expo in Burlington and promote our businesses there.  We have taken a booth at the Manchester Business Expo at the Equinox Hotel  to represent Bennington businesses.

Internships:  We have consistently engaged with the local colleges and our high school CDC to work with interns.  Several of our former interns are productively employed locally and others are obtaining advanced training.

Legislative Initiatives:  We hold an Annual Vermont Legislative Agenda Luncheon to help us set our “asks” before the session begins.   We keep up a regular dialogue with our legislators throughout the year.   We hold one or more Legislative Breakfasts during the session.  We sponsor a trip to Montpelier to facilitate member opportunities to meet and talk with our representatives and administration heads.

Mailing Labels:  Available from our office for $30.00.  We print them – you use them.

Young Professional Group:  An offshoot of the Chamber/BBC/BCIC.  They are off on their own and doing quite well for the past several years.

Membership decal/plaque:  Every new member receives one for their window or door.  Remember to link with the Chamber website as well.

Enhanced Listings on the Website:  For Dining, Attraction and Lodging Members at a small additional fee.

Monthly Newsletter:  Featuring a monthly cover article, New Members, Coming events and general important dates.

Area Guide Publication:  This lists members with their 10 word description, address, website and phone number arranged by category.  Optional ads are available.  In the back is a Name and Phone Number directory.  The Area Guide is a yearly publication with an annual distribution of more than 70,000.  It is also available worldwide on our web site as an e-magazine.  For a few hundred dollars your ad gets amazing exposure.

Professional Development: Series of programs including Small Business Administration, How to Get a Job in This Economy, Is a Franchise Right for You, Brown Bag Lunches, Social Media Marketing Boot Camp and more to be developed, will  offer insights, ideas and instruction for our business members.

Referrals:   The Chamber refers people to your business through phone inquiries, trade shows, email, online, and in person.

Plant Tours and Ribbon Cuttings:  Helping members showcase their and existing businesses creates good news and attention.

Relocation Packets:  These are sent to new and potential new residents.  This introduces them to our Member Businesses.

The Chamber Website:  Our Website hits have tripled over the last few years. It is full of useful information.  Make sure you keep us up to date on your events and special programs.  Our Chamber Calendar is a great resource.

Monthly Radio Show:  On WBTN-AM 1370, our local radio station gives us a regular program to talk about the Chamber.  We also promote programs and events on their community calendar.

CAT-TV:  Our local public access television station has a community bulletin board where we post our programs and events.

Marketing:  Press releases, Social media, E-Blasts, Publications, Trade Shows, Tourism Networks, Displays at other Welcome Centers, Lead Follow-up, Banners and Posters all go into the mix.  In addition, we are active in the Regional Marketing Organization – The Shires of Vermont, which receives grant funding  to market Bennington County outside of Vermont.  We have worked with the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, Vermont Byways, CVNHP, other Southern Vermont Chambers, Efficiency Vermont and Vermont Buildings and General Services to promote our area.

Events:  Our Chamber is well known and respected for successful events.  They bring in  huge numbers of visitors.  The visitors spill over into our businesses for meals, lodging,  gas, gifts, clothes, health care products and more.  They have even been known to stop for hair cuts.  The good feelings generated by these events bring people back for additional trips.

General Goodwill:  The Chamber has always contributed to our community.  We sponsored the Great Race Finish Line and their return lunch stop last year, two Moosefests, the US Capitol Christmas Tree Project, two Montpelier State Lawn Christmas Trees, Catamount Prowl Street Art, Southern Vermont Garlic and Herb Festival, Car Shows, Lobster Fest and Pirate’s Ball, Palette Fest, Year of Mystery, Penguin Plunge/Winterfests, Year of the Dragon, ten years of the Aurora Dance Party and many smaller activities.   Many of these successful events made it possible for the Chamber to make substantial donations to a number of local non-profits like the Bennington Free Library, Vermont Arts Exchange and the Bennington Museum.  We have shared revenues with our local artists, youth programs, health care programs and others.  We hope you will be proud of your association with an organization which works for its members and for the betterment of its community.
